Physical & Chemical Property 　

Sulphur is a kind of yellow liquid or solid with two types,namely crystal form and amorphous form. Its atomic number is 16 and the atomic weight is 32.06. Owing to different shaping approaches, the product can be shaped floury,grainy,sheet-shaped or lumpish. Its melting point is112.8℃ to119.3℃and its boiling point is444.6℃. The substance is indissoluble in water,slightly dissolves in alcohol and ether, and easily dissolves in carbon bisulphide,carbon tetrachloride and benzene. The substance is flammable with the kindling point of363℃ and easily forms explosive gas mixture if mixed with air by the modes of dust or steam.

Application 　

　　Industrial sulphur is mainly used to manufacture sulphuric acid, dyestuff and rubber,moreover, it can be applied in the fields of military industry, medicine and pesticide etc. Food sulphur can be used for conservation,disinsection,bleaching and staining in food industry,moreover,can be often used to soften corn in the starch industry.

Method for Making

　　It is made of gas mixture including acid gas produced by oil refinery, as well as acid gas generated by processing device of wastewater which contains sulphur in sulphur recovery unit by the process of being oxidized partially.

　　It has low toxicity,thus protecting mask for operator is required;

Package, Storage and Transportation

　　Plastic knitting bag or plastic thin bag for industrial sulphur with second-grade flammable and solid dangerous mark; Solid sulphur can be stored open-air or indoors warehouse,meanwhile,waterproof and dampproof are required. Liquid sulphur can be transported in tanker.
